Hint: This is the opposite of thermodynamic function, which is used to measure the extent of disorder or randomness. Lesser will be the randomness, more will be the opposite of enropy.it can also be considered as the tendency for all matter and energy in the universe to stay in solid form.
Complete answer:
To find the solution we need to find entropy first. Assuming that we have two containers A and B respectively. They are filled with two different gases having different densities. Now imagine they are connected with a pipe. Due to this, the gas with higher density tries to escape its container and wants to occupy more space. The gases increase in disorder or randomness of the system. Since every system has a tendency to attain a state of maximum stability, therefore a more disordered state may be related to more stability. Hence, the tendency of various systems to acquire a more random state may be responsible for the spontaneity of the process.
The opposite of entropy is termed as Negentropy. From the above paragraph, it is very clear that it will make the system more in order. By ‘order’ is meant the organization, structure and function: the opposite of randomness or chaos.
Examples of negentropy are the solar system and other life.
Note:
It remains constant in ideal cases where the system is in a steady state or undergoing a reversible process. The increase in entropy accounts for the irreversibility of natural processes. The asymmetry between the future and past .Entropy is inversely proportional to temperature.
